Attention All Deer Hunters
Please note: Scherf's Processing will no longer be excepting deer for "Share The Harvest"! Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Share the Harvest program in Missouri provides a way for deer hunters
to donate venison to the needy. This program is administered by the Conservation
Federation of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
During the 2010 deer seasons, 4,243 hunters donated over 213,000
pounds of venison. As of February 2010, this program has coordinated the
donation of more than 2 million pounds of venison.
Donating is easy and FREE… Hunters who want to participate simply take
their deer to Scherf’s Processsing, an approved meat processor. Scherf’s Processing will package
the meat, which will be picked up by the local sponsoring organization
and taken to a participating charitable agency for distribution.
Share the Harvest is a WIN WIN program. Hunters win by doing their
part to help people in need; Scherf’s Processing wins by getting positive
feedback for their involvement and donations of locker space; and participating
organizations win by having a ready-made service project for a good
cause. Plus, the Department of Conservation has yet another tool to use in
management of Missouri’s valuable deer resource.
Please note: Scherf's Processing will no long be excepting deer for "Share The Harvest" deer!! Soryy for the inconvience.
